Shotgun-Wielding Robber Arrested In 2 Attacks Along Red Line
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have arrested a man who allegedly used a sawed-off shotgun to rob several passengers at two CTA Red Line stations over the weekend.
The suspect allegedly pulled a sawed-off shotgun out of his backpack and demanded cell phones from people standing on the platform of the Loyola Red Line station at 1208 W. Loyola Ave. at about 1:50 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Less than two hours later, at 3:30 a.m., the same man robbed three people at the Sheridan Red Line station at 3940 N. Sheridan Rd.

He got away with six phones, including smartphones, police said. No one was injured in the robbery.
Authorities later found the gun and backpack. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, according to Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak. Charges were pending Thursday afternoon.
Police were able to recover surveillance images and described the suspect as a black male with a thin build, between 18 and 22, and 5-foot-10 to 6 feet.
