Teenager Shot In Head In Pullman Neighborhood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A teenage boy was shot in the head in the South Side Pullman neighborhood Monday night.
The 17-year-old was walking with a group of males in the 11800 block of South Perry Avenue about 9:30 p.m. when a red car pulled up and fired shots and the group, police said.
A police source said the teen attends Fenger High School on the Far South Side and had been walking northbound from the intersection of 119th Street and Perry Avenue when he was shot.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he remains in critical condition, police said.
Following the shooting, authorities found a vehicle matching a description of the red car seen during the attack parked empty nearby at 117th Street and Yale Avenue, police said.
Detectives are still investigating whether the vehicle found -- which had been reported stolen Sunday night -- was the same one used in the attack, police said.
