Walter's Perspective: Tough Talk, Toni

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Careful everybody and put up your dukes. Look out. Put up your dukes.

There's a new muscleman in town – a musclewoman – the President of the Cook County Board, Toni Preckwinkle. She's about to smack us with more taxes on cars we buy and a mug of beer we drink; whack us with fees for parking at county courthouses – hit people on jury duty, make them pay to get to court.

Mighty Ms. Preckwinkle is about to push prisoners out of the Cook County Jail, and children out of the Juvenile Detention Facility, and slash the budgets of the county hospitals, the Cook County State's Attorney and the Cook County Sheriff.

Her budget will hammerlock the unions and bust 1,000 employees off the county payroll. If they won't work for free on Thanksgiving and Christmas, they won't be working at all, says tough Toni, while spending $250,000 on pay raises for her personal bodyguards.

Tough talk, Toni. We hear you being every bit a hypocrite.
