CHICAGO (STMW) – A 19-year-old woman died early Saturday after being shot while standing with a crowd of people in south suburban Chicago Heights.

Danielle Simmons, 19, of the 400 block of West 16th St. in Chicago Heights, was pronounced dead at St. James Hospital at 1:08 a.m. Saturday after being shot in the 200 block of West 14th St., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

She was standing outside with a group of people at that location when she was shot, sources said.

“My daughter didn’t deserve to die.  She had a beautiful spirit and a beautiful heart,” the victim’s mother, Lynn Simmons, told CBS 2′s Mike Puccinelli.

No one at the Chicago Heights police or fire departments could immediately be reached for comment Saturday morning.

Chicago is turning into one huge cesspool of criminals, politicians and all put a fence around it and take away their right to vote.
    By the way.
Hi there Chicago it’s me from down state illinois. Hows the anti gun laws working out for ya. When will you idiots up there wake up and see your anti carry laws only dis arm the law abiding guys and keep the bad guys with their guns safer?

Like hell take my family to Chicago for family fun. Getting them all killed in a drive up like so many others I read about doesn’t sound like fun to me oh yeah and in Chicago the criminals carry guns but I can’t hahaha NO THANK YOU CHICAGO!

Rahm is more worried about getting those cameras to work so he can catch you hurrying home from the restaurants to use the bathroom than to clean up the cesspool. Why aren’t those cameras watching the neighborhood instead of working people running behind to get to works license plates. Running behind because of the big potholes in the road lord knows they have created more danger than going 5 mile an hour over has.

Why is Barak even running again? He’s done enough damage.

As a former resident of Chicago Heights I must say its horrible to see another young person gone. Its pathetic that no one cares to take the violence off the streets. We need to all work as 1. Not against one another. Lets put the fire arms down. If you fill the need to have one join the army. But i do want others to know we do have a large killing percent here but you must realize dont judge the entire chicago because some of us want to get out and have kids that are not gang banging and try to be a murder. We all are not evil. And stop blaming all of your problems on Barack. We the people run the U.S.A. If you want a change get off your ass and speak up. But my heart goes out to Daniel aka Malibu family and friends.! May you Rest in peace sweety.

Lady I have you to know I am a veteran from Iraq and I have drawn my share of combat pay I am missing my left leg 6 inches below my knee among other injuries. Now if you want me to put my fireams down! tell the bad guys to drop theirs you idiot. Im the good guy here Raven, you flame on me well I’m gonna say right to your face your a hyporcite. Its okay to put a weapon in my hand and send me over seas to fight for this nation that I do so love but when I come home with missing limbs with no way to run from an attacker I cant have a means to defend myself.

P.S. You misserable hypocrite you tell me to get off my ass let me ask you what you have done for this nation lately beside spew your rehtoric on the internet. Afraid to even give your name in the forum for being ashamed of your own words i guess and yeah Obama has done nothing for this nation either he’s a big Fail. 10% unemployment rate in Illinois and the largest deficite in the history of any nation and he is personally responsible for it.

As I said before your gun laws only apply to the good guys.

I personaly feel offended by the remarks of Davis after serving honorably for this this nation, our own lawmakers feel we are a threat to the people and country we love so much that we swore an oath to protect and defend and pay the ultimate price if and when the time comes.

My GOD in heaven forgive me for I know nothing about humanity, but Supreme Ruler I have learned one thing I will let the way the lawmakers vote, determine how I vote. Amen.
