CHICAGO (CBS) – Chicago police were questioning a mother and her boyfriend about the brutal beating death of her four-year-old son.

Friday was Christopher Valdez’s birthday. Police say they found his lifeless body in a home in the 5100 block of South Trumbull Avenue in Gage Park.

Police say the boy may have been dead for several hours before they arrived at the house shortly after 2 p.m.

The child appeared to have died from “multiple blunt force trauma,” police said.

The boy was pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital at 3:10 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

“I just don’t understand how anybody could do that. Just a shock to me,” the child’s great-grandfather, Santiago Valdez, told reporters.

I think The Gorilla that lost her baby in the zoo feels more pain than a lot of the cesspool dwellers do when they lose a baby.

Dawn these people who post on CBS2’s web-site simply “ain’t got no damn brains.” They are poor @ss white people with cheap @ss computers. The reason why I know their computers are cheap is because all they do is post on this web-site.

No one here said the kid was black leroy just made a comment about why blacks have kids and don’t take care of them but he never said the kid here was black you assume too much

I really feel for this young child’s family. I’m so sorry regarding this tragedy.

Black, white, hispanic, asian, caldean, muslim, it don’t matter….NONE of that matters! All that matters is that a little 4 year old baby was murdered for no reason other than being 4-and ON HIS BIRTHDAY no less! All because of what? He got on mommies boyfriends nerves? He whinned to much? Didn’t eat his breakfast? They couldn’t make the rent? He just got in the way at the wrong time-what? There is NO reason! What is being lost here is the fact that yet another innocent child has lost his life to an adult that could not control their rage, their hate, their anger and took it out on an innocent child. It doesn’t matter what color that child’s skin is, what his nationality is and what his religion is, we should all take a moment to reflect on the fact that way too many innocent children are dying for absolutely no reason and that they are trapped in abusive households and are too little and too young to do anything about it. Want to be a changing factor in this world, help someone stuck in an abusive relationship that may be allowing themselves or their children to be abused by a controlling person. Reach out, be the child’s voice, talk to the parent or to authorities if you suspect child abuse. You just may save the life of a child. Thank you, and Rest in Peace, Christopher, you will suffer no longer.
