NW Side Man Found Fatally Stabbed One Block From Home
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was found fatally stabbed Sunday one block from his home in the Avondale neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Police responded at 6:59 a.m. to the 2900 block of North Allen Avenue when a man with stab wounds to the chest was discovered on the ground near the rear of a vehicle, police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said.
Valente Barrera-Gallado, 40, of 2935 N. Gresham Ave., suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:59 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one is in custody and Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
