Driver Hits Person At Bus Stop, Slams Into Flower Shop In Albany Park

CHICAGO (CBS) — A driver Monday morning slammed into several parked cars and a person waiting at a bus stop, and finally smashed into a flower shop at the edge of the Albany Park neighborhood.

The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. near Kimball Avenue and Irving Park Road, polcie said.

A vehicle struck several parked cars, then struck the pedestrian at the bus stop, police said. The vehicle ultimately came to a rest after striking a flower shop.

The pedestrian was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado said. Police said the driver was taken to an area hospital in an unspecified condition.

The police Major Accidents Investigation unit is probing the crash.
