As CBS 2’s Kris Habermehl reports, the the two-vehicle accident happened sometime around 6 a.m. at junction of Route 59 and Army Trail Road, on the boundary between Bartlett and Wayne.

One of the vehicles left the road at a high rate of speed and tumbled into the trees at nearby Jaynesway Farms. The car didn’t make it to the stables or enclosures at the farm, having been stopped by the trees.

The other vehicle, a yellow Hummer, remained on the shoulder.

At least one person was killed in the crash, the DuPage County Sheriff’s office said.

Following the accident, Army Trail Road was closed between Munger Road and Route 59, and Route 59 had one lane blocked southbound at Army Trail Road.

The deceased victim remained unidentified as of 11:30 a.m., pending family notification.
