Sandusky's Lawyer Inadvertently Plugs Gay Sex Line

(CBS) As if this story couldn't get any more bizzarre.

In the midst of a day-long media blitz Tuesday, Jerry Sandusky's lawyer gave his client's skeptics some advice he probably wishes he could take back.

While shifting the focus to former Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary, attorney Joe Amendola said that if McQueary had witnessed a boy being sexually assaulted in a shower and had told Joe Paterno, the athletic director and the university president and "their response was simply to tell Jerry Sandusky that 'Don't go into the shower anymore with kids,' I suggest you dial 1-800-REALITY because that makes absolutely no sense."

Oops.

As it turns out, 1-800-REALITY is a gay sex line. Considering the case, that's probably not a number Amendola wants to keep plugging.

The lawyer later said he didn't know the phone number was real and said he wouldn't use it again.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea.
