(WSCR) As if the Bears hadn’t sunk low enough after losing three-straight games, the Sam Hurd fiasco is adding even more drama to a team grasping for a playoff spot.

“Unfortunately for the Bears, this is going to be a distracting topic of discussion,” Bears radio analyst Tom Thayer said. “It’s not something that you’re just going to talk about and then just leave behind and go to meetings and start filtering information that you need to absorb according to this week’s game plan. I do think, as much as you’re going to think about the gameplan, it’s always going to be something that’s lingering in the back of your head.”

As far as the on-field product, Thayer isn’t holding breath.
