DeKALB, Ill. (AP) — Ryan Broekhoff scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Valparaiso handed Northern Illinois its 11th straight loss in a 59-48 decision Tuesday night.

Will Bogan added 18 points and Erik Buggs had six assists for the Crusaders (8-4).

Abdel Nader scored 12 points and Keith Gray had nine points and seven rebounds for the Huskies (0-11).

Northern Illinois led 28-25 at halftime and extended the gap to 37-31 on Nader’s 3-pointer with 13:34 to play.

But Broekhoff’s 3-pointer 5 minutes later put the Crusaders ahead for good at 41-39. Broekhoff’s basket started a 14-3 run that made it 52-42 with 4:02 remaining and cemented the outcome.

Northern Illinois outrebounded Valparaiso 32-25 but committed 20 turnovers while forcing 13.
