Quinn To Appoint Panel To Examine State’s Pension Program

CHICAGO (CBS) — Gov. Pat Quinn says he is going to create a new working group to examine the state’s troubled pension system and recommend changes.

As WBBM Newsradio Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports, Quinn says he does not want to comment directly on a report that Illinois State University has deemed some private employees eligible for public pensions.

But he used the occasion to announce that he will convene a bipartisan, broad-based panel to look into the state’s troubled pension system, and recommend changes to prevent abuses.

“I want to have a robust dialogue in the coming months, but we are going to be acting, I think, on important matters that protect our pensions and make sure they’re there for everybody,” Quinn said.

Former Quinn chief of staff Jerry Stermer, who is now a senior adviser, will head up the panel.

To – Quinn you stupid @ ss hole

    From – Citizens of IL

TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE !!!! And just how much is this little panel going to wind up costing the tax payers!!??

I agree Yard Ape: Quinn and the people he’ll appoint are part of the problem. No way they can do anything but cost the taxpayers still more money. If they want to fix the pension the Feds should get involved and start handing out indictments like candy canes. Then let the citizens of Illinois, i.e., the taxpayers, vote on a pension bill designed by private industry not the people who will benefit from it!

Notice he is acting to “protect” the pensions if I protect something that means I prevent any harmful change to it.

People don’t fall for this fool he is not trying to save anything but his pension here this is an act to protect it not cut it this guy is an azzhole

Who is Quinn going to use for his committee? Teachers and public employees. That’s why NOTHING ever gets done. We always need a COMMITTEE. You saw how the committee of 12 got things done. His brother is on the golden spoon pension program, you think this jerk is going to change anything?

Last I heard it was 68 billion in the rears. Where are you going to get the money? Us over burdened TAXPAYERS ALREADY PAID THE PENSIONS THROUGH OUR TAXES, NOW THEY WANT MORE – NO EFN WAY.

Public employees – under worked – overpaid, golden spoon bennys.
    Slap a politician for Jesus!!!
