(CBS) ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden is ready to return to coaching, CBSSports.com confirmed.

The San Diego Union-Tribune first reported that Gruden wants to leave the television booth and said St. Louis is a likely destination. The Rams are expected to fire head coach Steve Spagnuolo and general manager Billy Devaney and bring in current Chargers GM A.J. Smith if he is let go in San Diego. Smith is very close to Gruden and would hire him as the Rams head coach, according to the report.

The newspaper also said ESPN is already preparing for Gruden’s departure.
