Two Illinois Trustees Vote No On Beckman Over Race

(CBS) The University of Illinois' board of trustees has approved the five-year, $9 million contract for new head football coach Tim Beckman, but the vote was not unanimous.

According to a report, the two trustees who voted against the contract cited racial issues. Trustees Lawrence Oliver and James Montgomery said they voted against the contract because they believe the university didn't work hard enough to find a black head coach.
