CHICAGO (STMW) - Red Line trains were rerouted Tuesday night after unfounded reports of subway smoke in the South Loop.

The fire department responded about 7:30 p.m. to reports of smoke in the subway near the Roosevelt station, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The CTA said it has rerouted Red Line trains to the elevated tracks between the Fullerton and Cermak/Chinatown stations.

Responding firefighters found no smoke and nobody was injured, the fire department said.
