NORTHLAKE, Ill. (CBS) — An 18-year-old Northlake man was killed early Tuesday morning when someone fired shots into his home.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports, James Romero was sitting the living room of his apartment in the 200 block of South 45th Avenue in Northlake, when a bullet came through the window.

Romero was rushed to Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, where he was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday.

It is not clear if Romero was targeted, or if he was hit randomly.

No one was in custody as of Tuesday morning, but police say they have leads.
