Illini Need To Start Making Noise In Tournament

(WSCR) Since they were the National Champion runner up in the 2005 season, the Illini have had just one tournament win in the last five seasons.

One college basketball expert said that the time is coming where Illini fans will expect from their team.

“At some point, just making the tournament is going to become, ‘Well, yeah, that’s great, but isn’t there more out there?'” Mike DeCourcy of AOL Sporting News told The Mully and Hanley Show. “Other teams are making the tournament and doing more. It’s been awhile since that was the case for the Illini. Since the great team of 2005, it has been awhile since they really did some damage in the tournament. I think at some point you have to wonder if that’s going to come.”
