Super Bowl Sunday DUI Operation Called Success In Kane County

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (CBS) — This year’s so “No Refusal” program on Super Bowl Sunday is being called a success in Kane County.

As WBBM Newsradio’s John Waelti reports, the operation involves stepped-up DUI patrols in 11 Kane County cities on Super Bowl Sunday – a day when DUI fatalities typically rise.

Suspected drunken drivers who refuse to submit to a breathalyzer test are given expedited search warrants to put pressure on them to comply.

This year’s operation resulted in five arrests for DUI – all first-time offenders.

Another “No Refusal” operation is planned for St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

If refusing to blow is an option then it seems unethical to force their hand.

I agree. The option to force the state to move forward with charges without breathalizer evidence is a person’s right. We have a right to privacy and what is in our bodies is our own business, unless you have lost that right to being on probation. NEVER BLOW INTO A BREATHALIZER! Your attorney will have a better case without giving an advantage to prosecuters!
