Lottery Winner To Retire From Manicure Business

SCHILLER PARK, Ill. (CBS) — A change of lifestyle is ahead for Rose Juarez of west suburban Schiller Park, now that she has won $1 million in the new $2 Powerball drawing.

As WBBM Newsradio’s John Cody reports, Juarez says 40 years of giving manicures is about enough, and now she can do something about it.

“Thank you, Jesus,” she said. “Thank you, thank you.”

She bought the $2 Powerball ticket at J&R Liquor & Food, at 2401 N. Ashland Ave. near Fullerton and Clybourn avenues, and now she plans to head out.

“Italia, Hawaii – this is my dream,” Juarez said.

Juarez’s husband, Felipe, says he will keep driving a Top Hat cab despite his wife’s windfall.

The win has turned Rose Juarez into a big believer.

“I say to every people – play the game, because it’s true,” she said.

She is taking the million in a $750,000 dollar lump sum, and says she plans to keep on buying Lottery tickets.
