Police: Man Shot Dead In Woodlawn

CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was fatally shot Tuesday evening in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood, police said.

An unknown person approached the man while walking in the 6500 block of South Drexel Avenue and opened fire at 6:40 p.m., police said.

The 24-year-old man was shot multiple times in the chest and was dead at the scene, police said.

Central Area detectives are investigating.
