Man Dies After Being Shot In Vehicle In Woodlawn

CHICAGO (STMW) — A man is dead after being shot in a vehicle Saturday night in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

A man was sitting in the rear passenger side of a vehicle in the 6300 block of South Ellis Avenue at 11:49 p.m. when shots were fired and the victim was struck in the upper back, police said.

Jeremy Anthony, 24, of the 6400 block of South Ellis Avenue, was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center at 10:50 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

No one is in custody and Area Central detectives are investigating.
