Rose: Not Playing Is 'Definitely Hurting Me'

By David Schuster-

(WSCR) Derrick Rose continues to be listed as a game-time decision, which means he wont play for a while.

When exactly he'll return is up in the air, but an educated guess would be another week or so.

Rose talked with reporters after practice Monday morning and said his injured groin is coming along.

"It's getting better every day and I'm able to move a little bit more," he said. "I'm getting treatment twice a day so hopefully I'll be out there soon."

Rose has missed the last six games with his latest injury and 16 overall this season and it's driving him nuts.

"It's definitely hurting me right now to be missing these games, but my health is the biggest thing right now," Rose said. "I'm trying to stay positive and cheer on my teammates and just try and do the right thing."

For Rose, who has been hampered by a bad toe and back ailments this season, this is his initial groin injury and he has had a hard time dealing with it.

"I'm trying to rush back as quick as possible, but this is my first time injuring my groin and it takes a little time," said the Bulls point guard.

Rose also talked about his fellow injured teammate Rip Hamilton, who has missed the last 10 games with a sprained shoulder.

"He' s looking good," Rose said. "He's moving better than I am right now. He should be able to play any given night".

Rose promises that when he does come back it wont be at half speed.

"Whenever I feel that I am ready, I'm going to go out there and play no matter who says what. The call is up to me and whenever I feel like I'm 100% or close to it, I'm going to get out there and play."
