Police: Female Dead, Male Wounded In Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) - A female is dead and a man was wounded in Grand Crossing neighborhood shooting Tuesday night on the South Side, police.
The male and female were outside in the 1400 block of East 75th Street when they were shot about 7:50 p.m., said police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti, citing preliminary information.
The female was unresponsive at the scene and later pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office had not been notified of the death as of 8:30 p.m.
The male was taken to Jackson Park Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
