2 Teens Shot On South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — Two male teens were shot Saturday evening in the Avondale Park neighborhood in what police describe as a gang-related incident.

The victims, both 14, were walking westbound on 80th Street near Kenwood shortly before 7 p.m. and passed another group of male teens, who started shooting, according to police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. The victims told police they heard shots but did not see who did the shooting.

One victim was shot in both legs and taken to Christ Hospital, while the other, shot in the right leg, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, police said.

Both gunshot victims were in stable condition when they were transported, the Chicago Fire Department said.
