I’ll Have Another Scratched From Belmont Stakes; Set To Retire

(WSCR) I’ll Have Another won’t run in the Belmont Stakes tomorrow because of a swollen left front tendon, ending the chance of horse racing’s first Triple Crown winner since 1978.

As a result of the injury, the colt will retire from racing.

I’ll Have Another’s trainer, Doug O’Neill, broke the news Friday morning on The Dan Patrick Show.

“I’ll Have Another is officially out of the Belmont,” O’Neill said. ”… It’s not tragic, but it’s a huge disappointment,”
