CHICAGO (STMW) – A 13-year-old boy died after being shot early Sunday in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood. police said.

Tyquan Tyler, of the 6500 block of South Rhodes Avenue, was shot in the chest by someone in a passing vehicle in the 6200 block of South Rhodes Avenue about 1:26 a.m., police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital’s Comer Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:05 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

No one is in custody.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
