Man Critically Hurt, Teen Shot In Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man is in critical condition and a 15-year-old boy wounded following a shooting early Sunday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

They were in a vehicle in the 7200 block of South Emerald Avenue at 12:57 a.m. when an unknown shooter approached and fired several shots, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

A 22-year-old man in the car was shot in the face and taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Gaines said. A 15-year-old boy with him was shot in the arm, and is listed in good condition at Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center.

No one is in custody early Sunday, but Area South detectives are investigating.
