Minnesota State Football Coach Arrested On Child Porn Charges
EAGLE LAKE, Minn. (AP) — The head football coach at Minnesota State, Mankato, is in custody on charges related to child pornography.
Todd Hoffner was booked into the Blue Earth County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
He has not been formally charged, and it was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney. His home phone number is disconnected.
The Mankato Free Press reports authorities were at Hoffner's Eagle Lake home Tuesday. Eagle Lake Police Chief Phil Wills told the newspaper he couldn't comment.
Messages left for sheriff's officials and prosecutors were not immediately returned to The Associated Press.
Hoffner was escorted off the football practice field Friday. Dan Benson, a spokesman at Minnesota State, Mankato, tells the AP Hoffner is on leave. He says the university is working on a statement.
