Illinois Delegate Has Unusual Job On GOP Convention Floor

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS) -- At the Republican National Convention, one Chicago delegate has an unusual job on the convention floor.

WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports, Eloise Gerson is GOP Committeeman for the 42nd Ward of Chicago.

Yes, a Chicago Republican.

She is also the Illinois delegation's "whip."

What's that, you ask?

Her jobs is to pass along messages to the delegates about changes in the agenda, or activities on the floor. She takes care of special guests and alternate delegates.

She's also in charge of making sure all the delegates show up for the session, which is not always an easy task.
