(WSCR) The 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is featuring a special initiative to show support for the United States military.
The Express Your Thanks campaign is a project to help raise money for the Wounded Warriors through the Chicago Marathon.
To help, head to any Bank of America to sign a water bottle with thanks to the troops. For each water bottle, Bank of America will donate $1.
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon even elicited the help of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen to spread the word.
“My father was in the military, so that (cause) is still deep in my heart,” Pippen said. “What the military has been able to do for us over the last numerous amount of years, especially over my career with all the wars and things going on and we’re back here in American living a carefree life and being able to play basketball and do all the things we enjoy in our every day life, I just wanted to be able to give back a little bit and show our thanks and support.”
