(WSCR) While the Bears 41-21 win over the Colts looked good, one NFL expert cautioned fans not to project too far into the future based on one win.

As Hub Arkush explains, the Colts were the worst team in the NFL in 2011 and won’t be much better in 2012.

“It was a good ball game,” Arkush said. “It was exactly what you wanted to see. The offense showed a lot of what we’ve been talking about during the offseason and in preseason. The defense was OK – it wasn’t a great start. But what you gotta keep in mind, is that was basically a final scrimmage before the regular season starts. (The Colts) were the worst team in the NFL last year, they’ve turned over the roster dramatically and they may be the worst team in the league this year.

“There’s no negatives here. It’s just about being careful about how much you project off of what you saw yesterday.”

The game, however, did serve as a nice warm up for the Bears’ NFC North showdown against the Packers on Thursday night.

“They did what they needed to do (Sunday,)” Arkush said. “They did what they should’ve done. It was a great tune up for Thursday night. It’s just not a great predictor of what’s gong to happen when they get in against other good NFL teams.”
