Man Found Shot To Death In Car On South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) — A man died after he suffered multiple gunshot wounds—including to the face—Saturday night in the Gresham neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers found Dantrell Winford, 29, dead inside a car parked in the 900 block of West 87th Street about 7 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Winford lived in the 6100 block of South Morgan Street, the medical examiner’s office said.

Investigators found two guns, but police News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss declined to say whether the weapons were discovered inside the car or elsewhere.

Police have made no arrests as Area South detectives investigate.
