Fire Rips Through Garages On Northwest Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — The fire broke out around 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 6100 block of West School Street, in the Dunning neighborhood.

Investigators say the fire started in one garage and quickly spread to four others nearby.

The flames burned two garages to the ground, and left only a shell of a van parked inside. The blaze also melted the siding on the back of one garage.

There was no official word Wednesday morning on how the fire started.
