Relatively Moderate Winter Forecast For Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A new long-range forecast is out for the upcoming winter.
What will that mean for Chicago?
AccuWeather predicts a slightly warmer than average season, with below-average snowfall.
That could mean more problems with drought.
The predictions should be taken with a grain of salt. Meteorologist Elliott Abrams acknowledges that forecasters did not foresee last years very mild winter.
Above average snowfall is predicted for the Northeast and Rocky Mountains, while more rain than normal is expected for the Gulf Coast and Southeast.
