(WSCR) The Cubs announced today they have promoted Shiraz Rehman to assistant general manager, reporting to general manager Jed Hoyer.

With Randy Bush, the Cubs will now have two assistant general managers.

The 34-year-old Rehman joined the Cubs last November as assistant to the general manager after six season with Diamondbacks.

Before joining the Diamondbacks, Rehman interned for the Boston Red Sox during the 2005 season in the baseball operations department.
