City Cracks Down On Bogus Use Of Handicapped Placards

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel today announced that 41 disability placards have been confiscated and 47 citations issued during 20 coordinated stings since a large-scale effort to end disability placard abuse began on August 24, 2012.

Four of those people were cited on Friday morning, WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports.

"Our mission is the make sure that hose placards remain in the hands of those who are truly in need said Secretary Of State Jesse White.

The alleged violators are now subject to fines ranging from $500 to $1,000, plus a driver's license suspension.
