Food Delivery Drivers Robbed On SW Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — Police are warning delivery drivers of an increase in robberies on the Southwest Side.

Three males confront the drivers while they are delivering food, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives. One male displays a handgun and takes money and food from the drivers.

The robberies occurred in 6700 block of South Campbell Avenue at 2:45 p.m. Friday and in the 6700 Block of South Maplewood Avenue at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The three suspects are described as black, 17 to 24 years old, 5-feet-5 to 6-feet, 135-180 pounds, the alert said.
