CHICAGO (STMW) – A man is dead after being shot multiple times Tuesday morning in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

The shooting occurred at 9:13 a.m. in the 6200 block of South Eberhart Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Daniel Sullivan said.

Derrick Johnson, 23, of the 5100 block of South Eberhart Ave., was pronounced dead at 9:54 a.m. at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
