Chicago Man Charged With Child Pornography In Will County

JOLIET (CBS)-- A Near West Side man was charged with numerous child pornography charges in Will County for allegedly transferring images of children and exposing himself to an undercover cop online.

Mark R. Barreto, 34, of the 300 block of North Canal Street in Chicago, was charged Wednesday with felony aggravated child pornography, felony child pornography, felony indecent solicitation of a child, felony grooming and misdemeanor indecent solicitation of a child, according to a release from the Will County State's Attorney's office.

On Wednesday, a judge ordered Barreto held on $250,000 bond and said he can only use a computer for work and cannot have contact with anyone under the age of 18. He is scheduled to be back in court November 21st.

Barreto allegedly transferred pornographic digital images of children between 5 and 15 years old via the Internet, the release said. He also discussed sexual acts and exposed himself over the Internet to a person he thought was a child.

The most serious crime, aggravated child pornography, carries a penalty of six to 30 years in prison.
