Body Of NW Suburban Man Found In Pond

SOUTH BARRINGTON, Ill. (CBS) -- The body of a 25-year-old missing South Barrington man has been pulled from a pond in the northwestern suburb.

Vance Chidera Nwankwo's mother filed a missing person report with South Barrington police on Nov. 1, two days after he was last seen, Deputy Police Chief Raymond Cordell said.

On Friday, police reported that the Barrington Fire Department found human remains using sonar equipment, and that a body was being removed. Officials at the scene told CBS 2 the body is that of Nwankwo.

Nwankwo was last seen dressed in an Incredible Hulk costume on Oct. 30.

Nwankwo's friends told the Barrington Courier-Review that his cell phone, wallet and keys were left in his home, and one of his shoes was found outside.

"How did it happen," asked Angela Rigamonti. "I mean, he had a boot at the end of the driveway. … how did that happen?"
