Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle On SW Side

CHICAGO (STMW) — A 61-year-old man died early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Richard Delarosa, of the 6000 block of South Mobile Avenue was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 1:33 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The man was struck by the vehicle while crossing the street in the 5200 block of South Cicero Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
