Man Killed In Little Village Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was killed in a shooting in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood early Saturday.
Freddie Hernandez, 20, was fatally shot in the 2500 block of South Trumbull Avenue at 2:38 a.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
He was standing outside when a van pulled up and someone inside started shooting, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said. He was shot in the face.
Hernandez, of the 2400 block of South Springfield Avenue, was initially taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 3:15 a.m., authorities said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
