Don't Miss This

CHICAGO (CBS) – A Wisconsin man was arrested in Chicago this weekend after trying to abandon his son at a bus station.

Witnesses tell Chicago police they believe 31-year-old Joseph Corter was intoxicated as he approached strangers at the Greyhound Bus terminal in the West Loop Saturday night.

They said he was trying to get people to take his 3-year-old son off his hands.

When he was unsuccessful in those attempts, police new affairs officer Veejay Zala said that’s when Corter tried to leave the bus station without his son.

He was stopped by security and led to police.

The child, who was not hurt, is now in the custody of DCFS.

Corter was charged with misdemeanor child endangerment.
