Man Killed In Englewood Drive-By

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot and killed in a gang-related attack late Friday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, police said.

Tremayne Franklin, 33, of the 7900 block of South Kingston Avenue, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was standing in the 6100 block of South Morgan Street at 11:09 p.m. when a light-colored sedan drove by and someone inside opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He was shot in the head, Alfaro said. Police think the shooting may be gang-related.

No one is in custody early Saturday as Area South detectives begin their investigation.
