Battle Over Bedbugs At Cook County Court

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The exterminators are making a special visit to Cook County Juvenile Court this week--after a new possible sighting of a bedbug in the building.

You might remember a story from six weeks ago about bedbugs at the Cook County Juvenile Court building at Ogden and Roosevelt.

They might be back.

A spokeswoman for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle says an employee of the Circuit Court Clerk's office on the concourse level has made a complaint about a possible sighting.

The bug was spotted around the employee's computer work station.

Preckwinkle spokeswoman Kristen Mack says the bug was squashed and tossed in the garbage--so it's not certain that it was a bedbug--but the exterminators are being called in on Friday.

It was in October when bedbugs were spotted in the juvenile court building - and part of the clerk's file room was closed off to try to contain the problem.
