NIU Huskies Defeat Milwaukee 80-73 In Overtime

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Paris Gulley scored 21 points to lead Milwaukee over Northern Illinois in an 80-73 overtime win Friday night, snapping a five-game losing streak.

Jordan Aaron had a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists. Kyle Kelm scored 15 points, and James Haarsma had 14 points. Haarsma and Thierno Niang each had a team-high seven rebounds.

Milwaukee (3-6) led 37-28 at halftime, but at the 7:17 mark in the second half, the Huskies led 62-58, but Milwaukee scored seven straight points.

With 39 seconds remaining in the game, Haarsma made one of two free throws, giving Milwaukee a 68-66 lead. Askel Bolin made a layup for Northern Illinois, tying the game at 68. Milwaukee outscored the Huskies 12-5 during OT.

Akeem Springs led the Huskies (2-6) with 21 points and nine rebounds. Abdel Nader had 17 and Sam Mader 10. Nader fouled out with 39.4 remaining in regulation.
