CHICAGO (STMW) — A 68-year-old man died Friday morning, a day after he struck a vehicle while riding his bicycle in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, the man, identified as Yuan Zeng, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office, was riding his bike in the 600 block of West 24th Place, police said.

He rode off the sidewalk and into a vehicle, striking the passeneger side of the vehicle, and its windshield, then hitting the ground, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.

Zeng, of the 2600 block of South Quinn Street, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 6:34 a.m. Friday. No citations were issued to the vehicle’s driver, police said.
