SOLDIER FIELD (CBS) If the Bears’ inactive list is any indication, it’s going to be a long day against the Packers at Soldier Field.
Six of the seven players listed on the inactive list are significant contributors. Those players include: cornerback Tim Jennings (shoulder), linebacker Brian Urlacher (hamstring), defensive tackle Henry Melton (chest), defensive end Shea McClellin (knee), linebacker Geno Hayes (knee) and wide receiver Earl Bennett (concussion). Third-string quarterback Josh McCown is the seventh inactive.
The Bears’ injuries will significantly test the team’s depth, especially at linebacker. With Hayes out, Blake Costanzo will get the start at strong-side linebacker with Nick Roach once again in the middle.
The Packers are also extremely banged up. Their inactives include: cornerback Charles Woodson, running back James Starks, linebacker Terrell Manning, wide receiver Donald Driver, tight end D.J. Williams, wide receiver Jordy Nelson and defensive end C.J. Williams.
