Bears Hire Mike Clark As Strength Coach

(CBS) The Bears hired Mike Clark as as their strength and conditioning coordinator Tuesday.

Clark was previously the strength coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, where he worked with Bears general manager Phil Emery. Clark spent six years in Seattle before three seasons with the Chiefs.

He replaces Rusty Jones, who retired after eight years with the Bears. Jones was well respected around the NFL and the Chicago Tribune describes him as "having pioneered programs in nutrition, strength and flexibility."

Clark became available when new Chiefs head coach Andy Reid decided to hire Barry Rubin as his strength coach. Clark has a lot of experience though, including 25 years in college football. He is also a member of the USA Strength and Conditioning Coaches Hall of Fame.
