CICERO (CBS) — One person was killed and two others were injured in a traffic accident Wednesday morning in west suburban Cicero.

The accident happened near Laramie Avenue and Roosevelt Road, the Cicero fire department said.

A car skidded out of control and struck a wall. The vehicle then burst into flames with the three occupants inside. One was dead on the scene, while the other two were transported to the burn unit at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

Fire Department personnel tried to extricate the unidentified woman, believed to be 20 to 25 years old, from the front passenger seat, to no avail, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The driver and a backseat passenger were extricated and taken to Loyola. Their conditions were not known.
